Registered Dental Hygienist — Downtown Dental, Rapid City, SD

Downtown Dental, located at 623 Quincy St in the heart of downtown Rapid City, is looking for

a full-time or part-time Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team. We offer a genuine 4-day

work week, competitive pay in the $48–$56/hour range with production incentives available.

Our growing dental practice needs a Dental Hygienist to join a close-knit team. We are an established practice with wonderful patients ranging from pre-school to the elderly. We are a one doctor practice with an enthusiastic team who are dedicated to quality dental care.

Alpine Dental is looking for a team player that understands the mouth is the “window” to overall health of the body. We need a passionate clinician that can recognize early disease and is then able to implement a comprehensive clinical approach that prevents, treats, and controls periodontal disease utilizing laser therapy as well as improving overall patient health. We are looking for an individual that wants to take ownership of the periodontal department and become a partner in patient's care rather than an employee.

Responsibilities for this position include:

• Excellent communication and time management skills

• Providing routine preventive and periodontal treatment, oral cancer screenings, and implant maintenance for new and existing patients

• Providing patient education and assuring that all patients are as comfortable as possible

• Experience with Cavitron

• Licensed in the state of Montana

• Local anesthesia certification is a plus

• Proficiency with digital radiographs, computer charting programs, and laser technology

• Team player

Successful candidate will possess a strong work ethic and a desire to learn in a patient-focused medical environment. The capability to effectively interact and co-exist with both patients and team members is absolutely essential. Dental Hygiene Clinical Adjunct Instructor

Position Overview: The Dental Hygiene Clinical Adjunct Instructor is responsible for providing laboratory, simulation, and/or clinical instruction to students enrolled in the Dental Hygiene Program. This position supports student learning through instruction, supervision, mentoring, and evaluation while maintaining compliance with accreditation standards, institutional policies, and professional dental hygiene practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an institution accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA)
• Current South Dakota dental hygiene license or eligibility for licensure. Minimum of 3 years of clinical dental hygiene experience. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, and patients
• Previous teaching or clinical instruction experience preferred
• Knowledge of accreditation standards and competency-based education preferred.

Reports To: Dental Hygiene Program Director, Dean of Academics, Vice President

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Teach assigned dental hygiene courses in preclinical and/or clinical settings. Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback. Supervise students during clinical experiences to ensure safe and effective patient care. Support program policies, procedures, and accreditation standards. Participate in faculty meetings, calibration sessions, and professional development activities as requested. Promote professionalism, ethical conduct, and evidence-based practice. Maintain current knowledge and competency in dental hygiene education and clinical practice.

Employment Status:

Part-time, clinical instructor position; schedule varies based on program needs. Terms of Employment Salary set by Watertown Board of Education in accordance with the state postsecondary technical instructor salary formula.
